About us

For over a century this church was known as First Reformed Church of Lincoln Park, but as we worked out how we can seek to share the love and hope of Jesus even better than before, we found that we needed a name to better capture that mission.

In plotting a new course, we looked to our past. In 1847 this community was established as an outreach named Hope Chapel, so we decided as a church community that we wanted to honor those who have come before us, and emphasize that core and central to us is the fact that God has given us great hope in his Word.

Hope Church of Lincoln Park is committed to living and sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with everyone, everywhere, every day. There's a place for you here!

Carol Moeller Anderson was born and raised in Lincoln Park, still residing there today. Her church has always been an important part of her life, growing up as a Sunday School student and still actively involved in many ministries at Hope Church. Her roots in her faith are strong enough that she feels it is important to give back for all of her life blessings. Carol can often be found relaxing at her family’s farm in upstate New York, where she finds the beauty of the countryside and peaceful surroundings to be good for the soul. Carol is the proud mother of her daughter Courtney, and her 2 grandsons, Logan and Chase, bring her endless joy. Both grandsons enjoy participating in sports, and you can usually find  Carol cheering them on in the ice rink or on the lacrosse and football fields. Carol finds great pleasure in traveling, with hopes of doing more of that in the near future!

Director of Children's Ministries

kozanjeanmarie@gmail.com

Jeanmarie is a fixture of our children’s ministries at Hope Church, teaching and helping kids to know and love Jesus. She has lived in Lincoln Park for over thirty years and been a member of Hope Church for over two decades. In addition to her work with the kids, she can be seen serving the Lord singing and leading on the worship team.
In addition to her service to the Lord in this church, she is an attorney and college professor, and wife to Craig. Much of her joy comes from being mom to three girls: Rachel, Natalie, and Anna, and now Nonna to Ava. She would also be remiss if she didn’t mention her wonderful dog Theophilus, or “Theo” for short.

Jeanmarie has a passion for children's education and has spent many years as a homeschool educator of her own kids as well as others.
In her spare time, Jeanmarie loves studying God’s Word, reading a good book, and cooking a good meal for her family.
Jeanmarie has many beloved Bible verses, but when it comes to children’s ministries she loves these two:

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 19:14

"Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.” Luke 18:17

Dave serves the Lord and this church as the treasurer, in addition to having taught Sunday School for decades and currently serving as an Elder on our Council. He makes sure that we are financially responsible, good stewards of what God has given, and that we focus our money on God’s work.
Born and raised in Pennsylvania, Dave moved to Lincoln Park in the 1980s and married Lorraine, both of whom have been members of this church for many years.
Dave and Lorraine have two kids, Ed and Electa, and numerous grandchildren. They also have two dogs which join them on their adventures, Cookie and Molly.
In his spare time, Dave follows the New York Mets, and is a great supporter of anything regarding Penn State University, (most especially their football and wrestling teams). He also is an avid hiker and enjoys spending portions of his winter in Arizona.

Pastor Joe was born and raised in Totowa Boro, NJ. Because of his learning disability (dyslexia) Pastor Joe never did well in school. He dropped out of high school sophomore year and later joined the Navy, serving on a Destroyer Escort, the U.S.S. O’Callahan, off the coast of Vietnam. After returning home from the Navy, Joe attended RCA Institutes of Electronics in NYC and secured a job in the electronics field. Joe and Beverly met in eighth grade and got married on June 16, 1973, after which Joe felt the call to go into full time ministry. After getting much support from his then pastor, Rev. John Nyitray (Sr.) and other members of Second Reformed Church, he worked full time as a field engineer for Eastman Kodak and studied to receive his GED and a BA degree from William Paterson College so that he could attend seminary. He attended Western Seminary in Holland, MI and graduated with a Masters of Divinity degree in 1986. He later went on to receive his Doctor of Ministry from Gordon Conwell Seminary in 2002. Pastor Joe served the Athenia Reformed Church in Clifton, NJ; the Holland Christian Home in North Haledon, NJ; the Second Reformed Church of Little Falls, NJ and the Levittown Community Church Levittown Long Island. Pastor Joe is currently retired from full-time ministry, serving as the Pastor of Visitation at Hope Church making himself available for home/hospital/nursing home visits to church members and the greater community.

His favorite Bible verse is Ephesians 3:14-17
14 For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, 15 from whom every
family in heaven and on earth is named, 16 that according to the riches of
his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit
in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through
faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love…
